A blood test can reveal deficiencies or imbalances that lead to weight gain/loss, fatigue, and changes in mood. Have you had nagging questions about:

  • If your oral contraceptive is negatively impacting you?
  • Why you can’t seem to lose those stubborn pounds?
  • Where sudden exhaustion is coming from?
The key to getting health answers is asking the right health questions.

It’s crucial for women at every stage of life to routinely assess their reproductive health, blood cells, and essential nutrient levels. Each woman’s body has specific needs that have the potential to impact weight gain, sleep, energy, mood, longevity and more.

The WellnessFX Women’s Health panel was created to empower you with an in-depth understanding of your health, fertility, and risk for disease, so you can make educated, informed choices that fit your body’s unique needs, ranging from nutrition and lifestyle changes to hormone, contraceptive, and risk monitoring.

This extensive test package is available outside of a doctor's office for less than you'd pay at a specialty clinic.

Notable Markers

Cortisol is the primary stress hormone. In women, elevated Cortisol can disrupt cycle hormones, impair fertility, and even make the menopausal transition more uncomfortable.

Vitamin D goes beyond just supporting absorption of Calcium to increase bone strength in later years. Vitamin D deficiency is highly prevalent throughout all ages, and correcting Vitamin D deficiency can increase immunity, decrease inflammation, and even regulate levels of female sex hormones.

Your thyroid controls your metabolism, with Free T3 and T4 being the active components of thyroid function, and almost 10% of people have thyroid dysfunction. Ninety-percent of thyroid abnormalities are low thyroid function, which can cause fatigue and unwanted weight gain, while too much thyroid hormone can lead to restlessness and undesired weight loss. Thyroid abnormalities are far more prevalent in women and, along with Cortisol abnormalities, is the most common non-anatomical cause of infertility.

Folate is essential in the production of many cells, including red and white blood cells. Healthy folate levels support nerve function, bone and brain health, and help prevent serious birth defects of the spinal cord and brain.

When to Test (as Recommended by Dr. Jeffrey Edman, M.D.)

There are better days to test, depending on what you want to know.

  • The best day for women to test who want to know about their fertility would be day 3 of their menstrual period.
  • Premenopausal women not on oral contraceptives should get this test on days 21-24 of their cycle.
  • Post-menopausal can test at anytime. If you’re on any sort of hormone replacement, you should not take hormones, including thyroid, on the morning of the blood draw, while the night before is fine.
